A chocolate twist on the traditional Italian cake, with plenty of chocolate chips!

It is made in a sleepy village 50km south of Venice, near to Vienna.

The word “panettone” derives from the Italian word “panetto”, a small loaf bread. Panettone can be served as a dessert, accompanied by sweet wine; it’s also delicious toasted and spread with butter, or used in place of bread in a bread and butter pudding.
